Location
Torrox Park is located on Spain’s Costa del Sol approximately 4 miles west of Nerja and 35 miles east of Malaga.
Situated a mile from the coast Torrox Park is 10 minutes drive from the N340 motorway which links it direct to Malaga Airport. In the hills immediately Behind Torrox Park there are many traditional Spanish villages such as Frigliana with their typical white houses and squares with cafes/bars where you can step back in time and enjoy a far more relaxed pace of life.
Getting there by Road
Nerja can by reached from Malaga in the west by the N340/E103 and from Motril 25 miles to the east. From Motril the N323/E103 leads to Granada in the north.
The turning for Torrox Park is located a mile east of Torrox Costa on the coast midway between Nerja and Torre del Mar. Torrox Park is a mile north of the coast road nestling in the hills.
By Sea
Brittany ferries has a sailing from Plymouth to Santander in North West Spain. Santander to Nerja is approximately 550 miles by motorway.
P and O ferries operate from Portsmouth to Bilbao, which is connected to Nerja by motorway (approximately 600 miles).
By Air
Malaga Airport is 35 miles to the west and can be reached by motorway in less than 45 minutes.
Airlines with flights to Malaga include: BA, Air France, Easy Jet, Ryanair, Monarch, Fly be, SAS, Alitalis, Air Scotland, CSA, Swiss, Jet 2, My Travel, etc.
Local attractions and places of interest include
Nerja (4miles) east along the coastal road N-340. Once a small fishing town, it is now one of the main tourist resorts on the Costa del Sol, yet still manages to keep its unique Spanish feel.
It has numerous beautiful beaches, its main and most popular being ‘Burriana’. Here you will find something for everyone - watersports, bars, shops, sunloungers, restaurants - you could happily spend a day there without a care in the world.
The heart of Nerja is the ‘Balcon de Europa’ - a circular promenade with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. Some of the better restaurants are found around here with exceptional food at fairly reasonable prices. It is here you could opt for a relaxing horse- drawn carriage ride around the town, taking in all the sites and sounds of a real Spanish village.
One of the town’s main attractions however is its caves situated on the outskirts of the town near Maro. They themselves bring thousands of tourists flocking to see these famous sites.
For those wanting a more relaxed time however, why not take the clubs and try out the fabulous 18-hole golf course approximately 15 minutes drive away.
Malaga (35 miles) the second largest city in Andalusia,with a thriving port, a 14th century cathedral and a Picasso Museum.
Marbella/Puerto Banus (65 miles) one of Europe’s most exclusive holiday resorts, frequented by royalty, jet-setters and film stars.
Parque Natural de las montes de Malaga (35 miles) a natural park where you can see eagles and wild bears among the fields of lavender and wild herbs.
Sierra Nevada (30 miles) fourteen peaks more the 3000 metres high cram the heights of the Sierra Nevada where you will find a great diversity of indigenous flora and fauna including golden eagles and rare butterflies.
Granada (60 miles) described as a ‘place of dreams.’ First occupied by the Moors in the 8th century. Granada in the 11th to 13th centuries had an international reputation as a centre for culture. The Alhambra Palace is a magical use of space, light, water and decoration, which characterise this sensual piece of architecture.
